Dear AP CS Teachers,
Outreach will be having a virtual AP Bowl Sunday, April 25, 2021, 1pm – 3:30pm, using BlueJeans and Canvas. Georgia Tech will provide temporary Canvas accounts for students who are participating in the practice AP CS A exam. Each student's account name and password will be sent via email, to the addresses provided on the student's registration.
To participate in the exam, students will need to send in signed waivers/ consent forms and have internet connection and both platforms downloaded to their PC. The test itself will remain like the multiple-choice portion of the AP CS A exam: students will have 75 minutes to complete 40 multiple choice questions.
Following the AP Bowl, we will grade the practice exams and give the scores to the teachers per usual. All participating students who make a 4 or higher on their actual AP CS A exam (not practice exam), names will be entered into a raffle for a chance to receive a give-a-way.
Students should prepare themselves at home or in school as if they were taking the practice exam on campus. They can do this by setting themselves in a quiet place with no distractions and having ready scrap paper, pens/pencils, water bottle(s), and a snack.
If interested, please have students register and complete the following survey, and the attached consent forms.
It is our plan to carry out AP Bowl successfully this year, and to use this opportunity as a flight for implementing this activity in our string of programs moving forward. We plan to offer AP Bowl not only for students taking AP CS A, but strive to remotely distribute practice exams for AP CS A and AP CSP every year. Check out other opportunities in Outreach here!
